The public is invited to discuss space topics, pick up handouts and NASA photos; enjoy the regular public shows at the Planetarium; and join NSS of North Texas for a special showing at 3:30 PM of “Time Space”. Regular public shows at 1PM and 2:30 PM will be at regular prices. The 3:30 PM show will be at the special rate of $3 per person. NSS of North Texas invites you to join us on a Field Trip to the Planetarium at the University of Texas at Arlington For a special showing of “Astronaut” (45 min)at 3:30 PM Saturday, February 2, 2008. Cost (for the special showing) $5 for adults $3 for children 18 and under, seniors & non-UTA students (If we have 25 or more total, the cost will be $3 per person for “Astronaut”)
From Cooper Street (Hwy. 157) go east on Nedderman Drive, then north on West Street. Park in the UTA parking garage (near the intersection of 4th and West Streets). Parking is supposed to be free on Saturday. The Planetarium is in the Chemistry & Physics Building a block or so to the north of the parking garage.
If you want to see two planetarium shows, you can come at 2:15 to attend the 2:30 PM public performance of “Wonders of the Universe” (45 min) & “Texas Stargazing” (about 10 min). Regular public prices will apply: $5 for adults $4 for children 18 and under, seniors & non-UTA students (However, if we have 10 or more in a group, this show will cost $3 per person)
The planetarium seats over 150 people so there should be plenty of room at both performances. We will be getting together at 2:15 PM in the lobby to see if we can qualify for the lower price for the public show. We will regroup in the lobby before “Astronaut” to see how many people we have and what the price will be.
If you could give me an idea of how many people will be attending from your group (in2space@ix.netcom.com or 972-937-3587), it will help in planning and I can let people know if it is likely or not that the lower prices will apply.
